Run and close program




















With just a handful of keystrokes you can shut down all active apps on your system via Task Manager's Programs tab. Plus: power off your PC by pressing three keys. Close all open programs A little-known set of keystrokes will shut down all active programs at once in no time.

Step 1: Press the "Add a Task" button to create a new task, and choose the program you want to close every 2 hours from the program list. You can also Drag the cross tool onto the program you want to close to select easily. Step 2: Now, hit the "Specific Time" button and set the first time point for closing your program, or you can also set an Interval time as the first time point of closing the program.

The loop closing will start since the time point you set. And because it is a Windows feature, this should work on all versions of the OS. You can directly schedule a single program to start up at a particular time in Task Scheduler. However, if you want to launch multiple programs, a batch file is needed. Open New Document in Notepad, and add this as the first line: echo off.

In the next line we will specify the programs to run. Add each program on a separate line:. The Windows Security window appears.

The Windows Task Manager opens. From the Windows Task Manager , open the Applications tab. From the Applications tab, highlight each application you want to close and then click End Task.

Now open the Processes tab. Click the Windows Start button, then click Run. The System Configuration Utility window opens. Click the Startup tab. When you see the list of programs that automatically launch when Windows starts, look at the check boxes next to each program: a check in the box means to start the program, and an empty box means you do NOT want the program to start with Windows.

You can experiment with unchecking some boxes and restarting your computer until you pinpoint the problem.
