Windows 7 problems with server 2003

Windows 7 has a concurrent file share limit of It isn't very good at disconnecting people. If other machines on your network are accessing this share and the machine isn't properly closing them you could be hitting that 20 count.

That will stop the share from working for any new attempts until the Server service gets restarted. Sandeep, I turned on the network discovery on PC1 and see if this would help. Only 6 shared folders. Prototype, if turn-on network discovery not working, I'll setup scheduled task.

The number of shared folders doesn't matter. It's how many connections are made TO that folder that matter. Quick access. Search related threads. Remove From My Forums. Answered by:. Archived Forums. AND solutions please ;- I have a small hunch it has to do something with a new function that should be implemented in this version. Very nice feature, long awaited and hoped for, but could it be broken in our situation??

As I said: just a hunch.. Please keep me informed about your progress, hopefully the fix is not far away! Jurren Posts: 4 Joined: Sat Jun 27, pm. So now I'm totally clueless again Re: Roaming Profile Issues on Windows 7 by mnemonicj » Sun Jun 28, am I wondered if the new functionality of the roaming profile might be the issue.

I can't understand why Microsoft would even dream of making Windows 7 and Windows Server incompatible in the part of roaming profiles. That means that every company that wants to move over to Windows 7 would need to have all of their domain controllers switched to Server before the Windows 7 switch.

That sounds like something Apple would do, not Microsoft. It did make me think for a minute though that maybe Microsoft doesn't enable roaming profiles in the pre-RTM versions of the OS, but I have nothing to back that up with. Connect and share knowledge within a single location that is structured and easy to search. Trying to introduce Windows 7 Clients into my Server environment. It also contains Two User Accounts.

One Domain Admin account and one Basic User account. Folder redirection works perfectly fine on my Windows XP computer when logged in as the domain admin or basic user accounts. First, I would like to thank all who posted. I used all the tools you've mentioned to narrow down the problem. It seems like the GPO I posted was the correct configuration after all. All I did was change the order of my GPO's. These mgmt templates aren't included in Server I can't find the MS documentation for this but a quick search shows it discussed here.
