The thicker aluminum mid mount plates require that spacers or washers be used where the flexplate mounts to the converter or the tabs on the converter can be made thicker by most converter manufacturers. If you plan on using a mid plate, let your converter supplier know and they can make any changes required. In some cases the center of the converter hub needs to be extended to insure that it still centers in the back of the crankshaft properly.
