The firewall that's native to Vista does have the ability to monitor both incoming and outgoing traffic so a third party firewall may not be required if the Vista firewall works correctly. Seems the other best free firewall is Online Armor, but it's not supported in Vista yet. Posted 18 April - PM Another free firewall, is comodo firewall! I could not configure it to leave these programs alone, even after setting them to trusted applications. If I disabled the firewall the lag was less - and it was zero when I uninstalled it.
And there is no lag.
