There is a house just for all the volunteers and a lot of time to be social as well. I had one introduktion week before the volunteering program where I met some amazing people. Anyway I wish I could have stayed at the farm longer. I hope someday to come back. Go if you love animals and want to make a difference. He is full of knowledge and so nice. I enjoyed meeting and working alongside people of different ages and nationalities. I like how we made meals together, ate and cleaned together.
Made us feel like family. Everyone was so friendly. I made some solid friends on this project and am looking forward to my next Conservation Volunteer project in Sydney starting next week.
Thank you for the wonderful experience, my time in the rainforest was special and I'll never forget it!! It was completely different in that I experienced a different country from the point of view of its people and learned about their daily routines and a bit of how they form their life-layout plan.
I had such a wonderful time, getting to know the children, staff and other volunteers. Two weeks was just not enough time - I was not ready to leave at the end and could have stayed for months more. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching the children, especially the songs and dances which I have taken back to use in my own classroom! I would recommend this project to anyone who is interested in making a difference through education. The family placement met my expectations, were relatable and kind.
It was definitely an economic way of travelling while getting the best of a country. The flexibility offered by the program ensures that you do your role and get a cultural exchange at same time. Based on my experience of 4 weeks, i sure would recommend Aliore. Those three weeks were some of the best of my life. The volunteer placements are incredible, and I met so many inspirational people, both from the local communities we worked with as well as fellow volunteers.
My experience was honestly only positive - I was a little doubtful for both how much me being there was actually going to help. In both cases, it was clear volunteers played an integral role in the success of their programs, but I also realized that I gained so much more from than the experience than I could ever hope to accomplish in a week or two.
As soon as I turned 18, I started researching projects and most of them way out of my budget. I found VFP and wasn't sure whether it was reliable or not, since it was so cheap, but I really wanted to try it out so I did I took a teaching project It made the transition to living in another place as easy as it really could be — finding me housing, an internship, and contacts within the city that could answer any questions or help show me around. The internship was a fantastic fit, which really showed how much Adelante listened to what I wanted from the experience, as well as they attention they payed to what skills I already had.
I learned a lot, met many new people, and got to know the amazing city. I even decided to move back to Oaxaca for the rest of the year to work at the art studio where I was previously interning! Re-Food is helping feed the poor with the help of local stores and restaurants, it truly is an amazing program with an amazing team to help support you! The Food, Culture and ambiance of the city is truly amazing. The people are kind and thof cost is inexpensive compared to the rest of Europe. I never felt unsafe anywhere I went and well walking around Lisbon you are bound to lose weight because of the hills! This was the first time I have traveled abroad by myself and I felt very comfortable and safe my entire time.
Working with the kids was extremely rewarding and heart-warming. This was such a growing experience and I am forever grateful for the individuals I was able to work with. The staff was very accommodating and wanted the volunteers to have the best time possible. I highly recommend this organization — the work they do is amazing! This experience was everything I wanted it to be- I got the veterinary experience I wanted and got to live in a nearby homestay that was walking distance to the clinic.
